After coming off of an impressive win against the Pelicans, the Charlotte Hornets doubled down with an impressive W against their I-85 rival, the Atlanta Hawks.

The Charlotte Hornets came into the game coming off of two big wins, one of them being the Atlanta Hawks. Fortunately enough, the Hornets were able to win their third straight game and their second win against the Hawks in four days.

The Hornets started the game off hot, only being down by one after the first quarter and outscoring the Hawks by 10 in the second quarter, putting them ahead of the Hawks by 9 points heading into halftime.

The Charlotte Hornets played an excellent second half defensively against the New Orleans Pelicans, and they continued that in their game against the Hawks. This has been a nice stretch for the Hornets. The fight that they showed in the second half against the Pelicans and the way they started against the Hawks was a nice change of pace for the Charlotte Hornets.

LaMelo Ball went off in this game! Because of his performance, the Charlotte Hornets now have the youngest player ever to earn a triple-double in NBA history. LaMelo flirted with the triple-double for several games now, but it was a Saturday night game against their I-85 rival that eventually made a dream a reality. Here is the replay of LaMelo making history.

LaMelo Ball scored 22 points in 30 minutes of play, making him second on the team in scoring. He hit 69.2% (9/13) from the field, including 60% (3/5) from three. He also hit 1 of 2 from the free-throw line, grabbed 12 boards, and had 11 assists. Donโ€™t you just love having a rookie that makes history? I sure do!

Terry Rozier led the team in points, scoring 23 points in 35 minutes of play. He went 53.3% (8/15)ย  from the field and hitting 44.4% (4/9) from the three-point line. He also hit 3 of 5 from the free-throw line and had 2 assists.

PJ Washington had another big night, scoring 22 points in 36 minutes, hitting 63.6% (7/11) from the field and 50% (2/4) from beyond the arc. He also went an impressive 6 for 6 from the free-throw line and grabbed 7 boards.

After coming off of two very impressive games, Gordon Hayward had a lackluster night, scoring only 13 points in 35 minutes of play. He went 42.9% (6/14) from the field and 25% (1/4) from three. Devonteโ€™ Graham had another slow night, scoring only 9 points and hitting only 1 of 6 from the field and 1 of 5 from the three-point line.

The Hornets played an all-around perfect game against the Hawks. They played a full 48 minutes of winning basketball, something that I have been complaining about the entire season. In every game that the Hornets won, they played an entire game of winning basketball.

The Charlotte Hornets will look to continue to add their 3 game winning streak on Monday against the New York Knicks. The most exciting thing about this Hornets team is that they are just now reaching their potential.
