As the Charlotte Hornets play their games, their G-League team, the Greensboro Swarm, are set to play in the Florida bubble.

The NBA recently announced that 18 G-League teams would be going to Florida to play in the bubble. Luckily, the Charlotte Hornets and fans will be able to watch the Greensboro Swarm participate too.

The G-League is set to play its season at the  ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The top-8 teams following the G-League season will be able to move into a single-elimination playoff.

Moreover, the Swarm also recently found out that they would receive the first pick in the G-League’s draft. This is the first time the Swarm has ever held the first pick. The last high pick the Swarm had, was when they selected Chinanu Onuaku at the #2 pick in 2018.

Along with the first overall pick, the Swarm will also have the 14th pick in the second round and the 1st pick in the third round.

This draft will be virtual and will be held Monday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. ET. There will be three rounds in the draft, and only teams playing in Orlando will be able to participate.

In this draft, only players with a 2020-21 NBA G League Standard Player Contract will be eligible to be drafted by a team. After the draft, teams cannot have more than ten players on their roster.

Before the NBA’s hiatus last year, the Swarm finished their season with a record of 9-34. The Swarm has the opportunity to draft someone with their top pick, who could turn some eyes on the Charlotte Hornets.
