Will Devonte’ Graham’s shooting troubles affect his contract extension?

So there is no doubt that Devonte’ Graham is absolutely struggling this season. His averages for just about everything is down this season. Coach James Borrego is adamant about helping Graham out of his early-season slump but will this have any effect on his contract talks.

So I believe that Borrego’s trust in Graham will make him feel wanted and appreciated despite his struggles from the field this year. Graham knows that he isn’t a top of the league player so he shouldn’t ask for some max contract but he will want to get paid. Graham a major part of the Hornet’s plans last season, where he averaged 18 points per game and was even a Most Improved candidate.

Whether or not he becomes a roleplayer or not shouldn’t affect the Hornet’s pursuit of Graham, since they will throw money at him to keep the young talent on the roster. Graham’s poor 26 percent from the field won’t look great so he won’t get as much as if he would have extended last season.

I have all ideas that the franchise will do anything in their power to keep Graham to continue to add to the talented young roster that is developing in Charlotte.
