The Charlotte Hornets have won four-straight games, and the team will look to end their three-game homestand with a five-game winning streak.

Fans have gotten to see the Charlotte Hornets clicking lately. The Hornets have won four straight, and they look to go undefeated against the Dallas Mavericks in the season series.

The Hornets will be heading into this one also seeking their first five-game winning streak since the 2017-18 season. Stringing together this many wins has been hard for the Hornets in the past, but it seems like the team is playing consistently as of late.

The Mavericks last played on January 9th, where they beat the Orlando Magic 112-98. The Hornets beat the Mavericks 118-99 on December 30th.

DAL:

Maxi Kleber – COVID-19 Restriction (Questionable)

Dorian Finney-Smith – COVID-19 (Out)

Jalen Brunson – COVID-19 (Out)

Josh Richardson- COVID-19 (Out)

Things to watch:

This will be the first time that the Hornets will see Kristaps Porzingis this season. He’s been out all season due to injuries, but the Hornets will need to make sure he does not have a breakout game. This will be his season debut if he does, in fact, play against Charlotte.

LaMelo Ball has played very well for Charlotte off the bench as of late, so fans need to pay attention to his production on Wednesday night. This could be another career game for Ball if he comes out hot.

Keys to the game:

After the Mavericks’ last loss to the Hornets, Luka Doncic will be ready for revenge. The Hornets kept Doncic very quiet in the last matchup and took advantage of him while he was on defense. Bridges finished with 20 points and 16 rebounds in the last game. Expect the Hornets to target him on defense.

The Hornets won the rebounding battle 61-51 in the last matchup, so the Hornets should look to win this battle again. Half of the Mavericks’ rebounds came on the offensive end last game, so Charlotte needs to make sure they box out on defense and not allow second-chance points.

The Hornets have a strong chance to win their first fifth straight game. If Charlotte wins, this will be the first time they’ve won five straight games since the 2017-18 season.
