Average Assists Per Game

If there is one thing that has stood out the most about LaMelo Ball’s game so far, is that he has an insane ability to find his open teammates. He is one of the flashiest passers in the game. He has the ability to look off defenders and make no-look passes to his teammates.

While this is a great quality, it is also necessary to be able to do this if you want to be a top point guard in the NBA. The one thing about basketball is that it is a fast-paced game, which leaves very little room to make errors and still be considered an All-Star caliber player.

Ball seems to possess the ability to slow the game down, which in turn allows him to make accurate passes that lead to scores.

Through Ja Morant’s first 20 games, he averaged 6.35 assists per game, whereas Ball averages 5.8 through the first quarter of his rookie year. The fact that Ball is only half of an assist behind Morant through the quarter mark is very impressive. One of the things that NBA players and analysts raved about, was Morant’s ability to make passes that led to scores. It looks like Ball is picking up where Morant left off.

Morant and Ball favor each other a lot when it comes to this part of their game. The ability to find open teammates is essential when it comes to playing the point guard position, but what makes Morant and Ball so special is how easy they make getting 10 or more assists.
