The Charlotte Hornets came into Friday night’s game riding a two-game losing streak, and trying to split a back-to-back with the Indiana Pacers. The Hornets started the game on a good roll and kept that same pace throughout the rest of the game, something that they didn’t do on Wednesday night against the Pacers. They got their revenge on the Pacers, beating them 108-105.

With nearly three minutes left in the second quarter, the Hornets were up by 14. Unfortunately, the Indiana Pacers would the second quarter on a 12-2 run, only trailing the Hornets by 4 points at the end of the first half.

To stop the Pacers momentum, the Hornets would need to come out of the half and start the third quarter with a bang, and that is exactly what they did. The Hornets started the third quarter on an 8-0 run and killing whatever momentum the Pacers had going into the half.

The fourth quarter was a little rough for the Hornets, as the Indiana Pacers would go on an 11-1 run towards the beginning of the quarter. The Hornets would eventually get back on track but the Pacers continued to bring the pressure. With a 1:31 left in the fourth, former Hornets player, Jeremy Lamb, would hit a three-pointer to put the Pacers ahead 103-102.

The Hornets refused to give up and lose, as they marched right down the court on the following possession and hit their own three-pointer, courtesy of Terry Rozier, to go up 105-103. The Hornets would stop the Pacers on their next possession and march back down the court, where Devonte’ Graham hit another three to put the nail in the coffin.

Rozier and PJ Washington led the team in points with 19 points apiece. Washington had his best game of the year, going 7 of 8 (87.5%) from the field and 3 of 4 (75%) from the three-point line. He also went 2 of 4 from the free-throw line and he was one rebound away from earning a double-double, grabbing 9 boards. Rozier had a great night as well, hitting 58.3% (7/12) of his shots from the field and going 62.5% (5/8) from beyond the arc.

LaMelo Ball was second on the team in scoring, getting 16 points on 7 of 13 (53.8%) from the field and going 2 for 3 from the free-throw line.

Graham came in third on the team in scoring with14 points in 32 minutes of play. Graham seemed to be all over the place in tonight’s game, hitting big shot after big shot. He went 35.7% (5/14) from the field and 44.4% (4/9) from three-point range. He also had some spectacular assists and he earned a double-double on the night.

Another bright spot for the Hornets is that Cody Zeller had another good game. He scored 12 points and he grabbed 6 rebounds. Malik Monk scored 6 points in 14 minutes of play.

The Hornets will look to continue on this trajectory tomorrow night, as they host the Milwaukee Bucks.
