The Charlotte Hornets struggled in the second and third quarters against the Houston Rockets.

The Charlotte Hornets found themselves playing a near-perfect game, which is why it is difficult to find a thumbs down in this game. However, if there had to be one, it would be their poor play in the second and third quarters.

This is not necessarily a knock on them because when looking at the numbers, the Hornets did not play terribly in those quarters, but they definitely could have played better.

While the Rockets only beat the Hornets by one point in each of those two quarters, they cut the Hornets’ lead to three points heading into the final quarter.

If the Hornets want to continue winning, they are going to need strong middle quarter play throughout the remainder of the season. It is a momentum killer to allow a team to claw its way back into the game.

Let’s see if the Hornets can extend their winning streak to three games, as they travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies Wednesday night.
