Round 1 – Picks 15 through 17

211. Pick Analysis. Keon Johnson. 15. player. Tennessee. Scouting Report. SG

Keon Johnson could be a solid contributor off the bench for the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are the 22nd ranked team in points per game, which proves they need additional scoring.

Johnson isn’t a true threat from deep yet, which is something that he needs to improve. He is, however, good at finding ways to score inside the arc. Johnson is averaging 10.1 points per game and is shooting 51% on 2PT field goals.

The Grizzlies would be getting a nice scorer off the bench, and Johnson could look to become a starter one day if he can progress on the right team.

player. Pick Analysis. C. North Carolina. Day'Ron Sharpe. 16. 170. Scouting Report

The Charlotte Hornets finally have the opportunity to draft a center in this year’s draft. Day’Ron Sharpe hasn’t been a star for the North Carolina Tar Heels, but he’s been effective off the bench for them.

Two of the Hornets’ centers are expected to become unrestricted free agents this offseason. With this happening, Charlotte should be looking to add some depth. We all know Michael Jordan is a former Tar Heel, so I can see him being okay with this pick.

The Tar Heels have some great big men playing for them this year, and Sharpe is one of them. Sharpe has averaged 9.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He’s averaged 14.7 points and 10.7 rebounds in the three games he started in.

Sharpe is a great option for the Charlotte Hornets if they plan on letting Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo walk in free agency.

Baylor. Jared Butler. Scouting Report. PG. player. 41. Pick Analysis. 17

The Golden State Warriors don’t have a solid option to back Steph Curry up, and they are not having the season they wanted to have. Golden State has the opportunity to make the playoffs, but Curry is carrying the team.

Golden State needs to look at drafting Jared Butler so they can have the depth they need at point guard. Just like Curry, Butler has been shooting very well from three for Baylor currently shooting 45%. He’s also averaging 17.0 points and 5.2 assists per game.
