Round 1 – Pick 1: Detroit Pistons

Cade Cunningham. 1. PG. Oklahoma State. player. 64. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Cade Cunningham could be the savior of the Detroit Pistons if they select him. The Pistons have been one of the worst teams in the league, and it’s time for them to bring in a new franchise player.

The Pistons recently traded Derrick Rose to the Knicks, and they do not have depth at the point guard spot. Drafting Cunningham gives them a player that they can build around in the future.

Detriot currently averages the least amount of made shots per game. They need someone who can take their team to the next level on offense. Luckily for them, Cunningham can score from everywhere.

Cunningham averages 18.8 points, 3.4 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game. One of the most impressive things about him is his size. Cunningham is 6’8 and has a seven-foot wingspan.

His size offers the Pistons a mismatch at the point guard spot. There are not many point guards that compare to his size in the league, so the Pistons could take advantage of opposing guards in the paint. Cunningham has the ability to finish strong when he’s attacking the paint. His size has also helped him to become a consistent defender.

Cunningham has also proved that he can be a great shooter. He’s shooting 43% from the floor and 42% from deep. Cunningham’s abilities on offense can be what moves the Pistons’ offense in a positive direction.
