Charlotte Hornets: 3 Keys to the game vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Charlotte Hornets must get more scoring from their reserve players.
Despite his early struggles, Devonte’ Graham is still a player that the Charlotte Hornets can depend on to provide some scoring. Graham has missed the last three games with a groin strain and is questionable to play on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
With Graham out of the lineup and rookie LaMelo Ball inserted into the starting lineup, the Hornets need Malik Monk and Miles Bridges to provide offense every game off of the bench. Even with Graham in the lineup, the Hornets don’t get enough consistent offense from half of their rotation for any player that can contribute offensively to have an off-game.
Whether Graham is out of the lineup or back, the Hornets are going to need someone else to step up and provide scoring off the bench. We know it won’t be Bismack Biyombo or Nick Richards, which puts the spotlight clearly on Caleb Martin and Cody Martin. Caleb has been a capable scorer this season but Cody has struggled. If Graham misses another game, both Martin brothers are sure to see time on the court against the Timberwolves; they’ll both need to step up if the Hornets are to get back on the winning track.
