Reason #1: Average Points Per Game

During Gordon Hayward’s All-Star year, he averaged 21.9 points per game, marking the highest PPG average of his career. Through 24 games of the 2020-21 NBA season, Hayward is averaging 22.9 points per game. With Hayward averaging more points than his All-Star year, there is reason to believe that he has a good shot at being an all-star.

Unfortunately, having a career year doesn’t necessarily mean that the player will be voted in as an All-Star. They also need to have stats that are competitive with other players in the league. Fortunately for Hayward, he can check this box as well.

Hayward ranks 25th in points per game; he is averaging more points per game than players such as Anthony Davis, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, and Tobias Harris.

Hayward has scored a total of 550 points, which puts him at 14th in the league for that category, and at least 11 of those players in front of him will make the All-Star team.
