What draft pick will the Charlotte Hornets end up with?

Giovanni Spillman: At this point, the Hornets are looking like a 7th or 8th seed playoff team if they can keep winning consecutive games. I predict that they could up with the 16th or 17th pick in the draft.

Shawn Simmons: If the Hornets can stay healthy and remain on the upward trajectory that we have seen lately, the Hornets will end up right outside of the lottery. I predict the Hornets will have the 15th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Josh Anderson: I think the Hornets’ will end up with the 13th pick. I believe that this team has the potential to be a sleeping giant. At the beginning f the season I predicted that they would make a push for the playoffs, and because of that, I feel like they will be in the middle of the pack in the draft.

Reilly Biller: I think the Hornets will end up with the 12th pick in the first round.

Anthony Boscia: Call me a doubter, but I do not think the Hornets make it out of the play-in games as a 9-10 seed in my opinion. That means they could end up with anywhere around the 9th-13th pick depending on how both the East and West shake out record-wise, give or take a few spots. Realistically though, it is still early enough in the season, anywhere in the lottery to 19ish (if they can keep consistency) sounds pretty plausible to me.

Josh Flenniken: The Hornets have been flirting with the 8 seed all season, and I expect them to continue that. The Heat could gain steam (no pun intended) and complicate things, but as things stand, I’d say Charlotte is picking 15th.

Tyler Reed: I think somewhere between 13 through 16 is where the Hornets will be eventually drafting from. I believe the Hornets will be making a playoff appearance this season, which could have them drafting farther back than many expected. The latest ESPN mock draft has the team drafting 10th, but I don’t believe that will be the case when it is draft time.

Emmett Ball: I would say late lottery. I predict Charlotte will likely be one of four teams in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament and can squeeze into the lottery if they are around the 9th and 10th seed in the East at the end of the year.
