Charlotte Hornets coach James Borrego should tweak his primary nine-man rotation when the Hornets are back at full strength.

Charlotte Hornets coach James Borrego likes to play with a nine-man rotation. When the season began, he planned to start Devonte’ Graham, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, PJ Washington, and Cody Zeller and use LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Bismack Biyombo, and Cody Martin off the bench.

An early-season injury to Zeller forced him to make adjustments. Caleb Martin saw time early on in the season, eventually leapfrogging his brother becoming the primary go-to Martin twin. Jalen McDaniels also saw some time early due to injuries but it was a while before Borrego gave Malik Monk a chance.

With Monk having solidified his place in the rotation with his recent performances and assuming Ball stays in the starting lineup, should Borrego stick with a nine-man rotation and contingent on the Hornets making no moves prior to the trade deadline, this is the rotation Charlotte should move forward with:

Starters: LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, PJ Washington, Cody Zeller

Bench: Devonte’ Graham, Malik Monk, Miles Bridges, Vernon Carey/Nick Richards
