Charlotte Hornets: 4 players who likely won’t be back next season

With six straight losses to end the 2020-21 season, the way the Charlotte Hornets ended a year that showed plenty of promise and potential will leave a bitter taste in many fan’s minds for quite some time.

Not many expected the Hornets to even be competing for a playoff spot this season but with the stellar play from rookie LaMelo Ball, newly-signed forward Gordon Hayward, and a breakout year from guard Terry Rozier, Charlotte played very fun basketball for a majority of the season.
Unfortunately, injuries and youth caught up to them, ultimately having them fall in the standings before seeing the season end in a blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Hornets’ general manager Mitch Kupchak said earlier in the year that the Hornets are ahead of schedule, and that might be true, but there will be a lot of decisions to make this offseason in regards to how the roster takes shape for next year.
One of the biggest priorities will be addressing the center position. It’s been years since Charlotte has had a reliable center and that should be focus number one this offseason for Kupchak and head coach James Borego.
It’ll be a pivotal offseason for the Hornets, so here is a look at four players that will likely not be back next season.
