The excitement of watching the Charlotte Hornets has reached basketball fans all around the world.

The LaMelo Ball effect is in full force in Charlotte. There hasn’t been a season in recent memory where the Charlotte Hornets have been in the spotlight as much as they had been this year. There is no doubt about it – this is a very fun team to watch.

Whether it be seeing Ball make a flashy no-look pass, Miles Bridges trying to rip the rim down every opportunity he gets, Terry Rozier putting the team on his back in the clutch, or Malik Monk and Devonte’ Graham catching fire from three-point range, there is a moment in every game that gives Hornets fans a reason to jump out of their seat.

As one of the smaller-market teams in the NBA, this could pay huge dividends for the Hornets. From a basketball standpoint, free agents may be more inclined to sign with Charlotte although they might lack the appeal of Los Angeles, New York, or Miami.

The national attention that the Hornets have gained this year is such a breath of fresh air for fans and for the city of Charlotte in general. After enduring several years of mediocrity and bottom-feeding in the Eastern Conference, Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak and owner Michael Jordan have put together a roster that fans rally behind and have confidence in.

There is still another level that the Hornets have to reach to be considered serious playoff contenders but there is no doubt that they are heading in the right direction. The rest of the league knows it, too.
