Kulboka spent the last couple of years playing for Spanish side Bilbao. He will reportedly negotiate a buyout and explore his options according to Eurohoops.
Eurohoops is stating that one of his potential options is finally joining Charlotte on a two-way contract, which would make for a very interesting development.
For those curious about what he’s been up to with Bilbao, Kulboka had the most productive season of his career since the Hornets drafted him. He played in 33 games, averaging 9.2 points and 4 rebounds per game according to Basketball-Reference. Not incredibly flashy, but what’s interesting is that Kulboka shot an impressive 43.5% from the field (42.5% from three on almost five attempts per game).
Bilbao plays in the Spanish ACB league which is considered one of the better leagues in Europe. If those stats are to be believed, that elite, distance shooting skill set is something that the Hornets could really use on their current squad. It would make sense why the Hornets front office would be interested in bringing him in on a two-way deal.
Personally, I would hold my excitement on this development for the time being solely because this is the first time we’ve heard anything about Kulboka joining Charlotte in quite some time. However, there could be some truth to this story so we’ll continue to keep a close eye on it as the off-season moves forward.
