As the Charlotte Hornets get ready for this year’s offseason to start, the team will have a lot to reflect upon. After almost making the playoffs, Charlotte will be looking to fix areas that couldn’t help them get over the hump.
After finishing the season on a stinger, Charlotte will look to add more players that can keep the intensity going. One issue the Hornets will be facing is the center position.

At the start of free agency, the Hornets are set to lose both Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo, as they are set to become unrestricted free agents. What that means, is that Vernon Carey Jr. and Nick Richards will be the Hornets’ lone centers on the roster.
Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak has already stated that it’s unlikely for them to be the only centers, so Charlotte could be in the market to shake up their frontcourt. Charlotte will have free agency and the draft to address the issue.
With significant cap space this offseason and the 11th overall pick in the draft, the Hornets will have the means to make an improvement. How the Hornets act will solely fall on Kupchak.
