Scottie Lewis’ area of improvement: Perimeter shooting and playmaking

Lewis was impressive throughout the Summer League on the defensive end. His length and athleticism combined with his motor are all the necessary elements to become a great perimeter defender, and he showed flashes of that in the Summer League. What will make Lewis more appealing as a rotational wing piece is the development of his offensive skill set.

Improving as a shooter, especially in catch and shoot opportunities, will be huge for his appeal to crack the rotation. Improving his ability as a shot creator will help too. One last note on Lewis was the last game of the Summer League and how the Hornets let him play point guard. Lewis showed some ability as a playmaker and shooting off the dribble in the mid-range game.

More reps and skill development could do wonders for Lewis, especially in situations where he has more of an offensive load like the last game in Las Vegas.
