No. 1. LaMelo Ball – Guard – 20

Drafted with the third overall pick in 2020, LaMelo Ball burst onto the scene and was immediately seen as a star in the making. At just 20 years old, Ball is already one of the league’s best passers and playmakers and is just scratching the surface of his scoring potential.

As a rookie, Ball averaged 15.7 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game which was good enough to earn him Rookie of the Year. Ball will need to improve his efficiency as a scorer going forward, and at 6’6, it is likely safe to bet on him being a better finisher at the rim in the future.

Ball already has the respect of the league and the media at his disposal. As the NBA’s crowned prince, the youngest Ball brother can do no wrong. If he continues to progress like everyone thinks he will, then he should have no problem finding himself as a top 10 player in NBA 2K one day. The question for him is how quickly can reach this accomplishment?

The third overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Luka Doncic, has already accomplished this feat just three years into his NBA career. Is Ball good enough to be on the same trajectory as Doncic?

Hornets fans sure hope so.
