Charlotte has to finish the season on a high note to secure a playoff spot.

Apr. 2: at Philadelphia 76ers – Win

I said it was hard to pick Charlotte against Philadelphia but the Hornets need to win the remainder of their games to finish at even. They start the month right with a massive victory against Philly.

Apr. 5: at Miami Heat – Loss

This is going to be a huge game for both teams. Miami’s experience get’s the best of Charlotte in this one and ensures Charlotte will once again be finishing with a losing record.

Apr. 7: vs Orlando Magic – Win

Charlotte gets back on the right foot with a win against Orlando. Playoff hopes at this point in the season are still alive. At the very least an appearance in the play-in tournament is likely.

Apr. 8: at Chicago Bulls – Loss

The rubber match between Charlotte and Chicago sees the Bulls take the series lead over the Hornets. This will likely be a crucial game for both teams who are likely fighting for playoff position at this point in the season.

Apr. 10: vs Washington Wizards – Win

Charlotte ends the season on a high note with a big win against Bradley Beal’s Wizards. This could be critical in the Hornets’ chances at making the playoffs or play-in game this season.

Final Record: 39-43

In 2019-20 (the last 82 game season), 39 wins would have been good enough for the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. That would place the Hornets back in the play-in tournament, but this time in a more favorable spot compared to last year’s 10th place finish.

In an improved Eastern Conference, it will be interesting to see what spot 39-41 wins can get a team like the Hornets this season. If it’s the 7th seed, fans should be very pleased.
