With the bulk of the NBA offseason concluding, you can begin to see how the Charlotte Hornets roster will likely look when they take the court for the first time on Oct. 20 against the Indiana Pacers.

However, nothing is certain, and general manager Mitch Kupchak is always looking for ways to improve the roster. Whether it comes via trade, free agency, or a buyout, there’s a very high chance that the roster won’t look the same after the season as it did at the start.

As it stands the Hornets have 18 players on the squad who are fighting to make the 15-man roster. In addition to the 15-man roster, Charlotte will carry two two-way players with them into the season who will likely spend most of their time with the Greensboro Swarm. They have already signed Arnoldas Kulboka and Scottie Lewis to two-way deals so unless something happens in the next month, those are likely to be the two.

In addition to Lewis and Kulboka, Charlotte currently has LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington, Mason Plumlee, Ish Smith, James Bouknight, Kelly Oubre Jr., Jalen McDaniels, Wes Iwundu, Cody Martin, Kai Jones, Vernon Carey Jr., JT Thor, and Nick Richards.

One of Carey, Richards, or Iwundu could very well not make the roster this season, and it would be easy to include them in an article like this so I’ll stay away from those players in this piece.

In this article, we will take a look at three players from the main core of the team who could find themselves in a different uniform at the end of the season.
