The Charlotte Hornets should be an improved team this year if they stay healthy, which is a big if after last year’s barrage of injuries, but the pieces are in place for Charlotte to fight for a top-five seed in the Eastern Conference.

For that to happen, the Hornets have to continue the progression they made last year in 3-point shooting, in which they ranked 14th in the NBA, shooting 36.9% from three. That was a big jump after shooting just 35.2% from behind the arc the year before.

Charlotte did lose two of their best 3-point shooters in Malik Monk and Devonte’ Graham, but they attempted this offseason to make up for the losses with rookie James Bouknight, guard Ish Smith and the expectation that LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges and PJ Washington can continue their improvement.

Overall, the Hornets still were one of the league’s worst efficient teams on the offensive end, according to ESPN, but they’re young and should learn to make better shot selections next season. Plus, the addition of a more reliable center in Mason Plumlee should open the floor up even more for guys like Bridges and Washington.

With that said, here is a look from 5-1 of the top shooters on Charlotte’s roster.
