No. 3: Miles Bridges – Charlotte Hornets – Power Forward

Known most for his high-flying dunks, Miles Bridges is actually one of Charlotte’s best shooters. Among players who averaged more than 20 minutes per game on the Hornets last year, Bridges was by far the most efficient shooter at 60%, according to ESPN stats.

That percentage ranked 15th in the entire NBA. As a leftie, his shot is that much more difficult to defend.

Bridges has taken major jumps in each of his three seasons in the league, shooting 40% from behind the 3-point line last year, which is a major improvement from his 32.5% as a rookie. He was also one of the best pull-up 3-point shooters last season.

Bridges only attempt 4.4 3-pointers per game but in today’s NBA, that number is only expected to increase with his ability.

He also hit big shots from behind-the-arc last year, making him even more valuable of a shooter. He’s already had two games in his career making six 3-pointers in a game, including when he scored a career-high 33 points against the Brooklyn Nets in April.

Due to his consistency, Bridges has become more valuable than fellow power forward, P.J. Washington. If he continues this play in his fourth year, he’s poised for an even bigger season.

Obviously, Bridges is an even bigger threat inside the paint but the fact that he’s not looked upon to be a 3-point threat makes him that much more important of a player.
