Ranking the 5 best shooters on the 2021-22 Charlotte Hornets
By Jason Huber
No.2: Terry Rozier – Charlotte Hornets – Shooting Guard
When it comes to the most clutch shooters on the Hornets, Terry Rozier probably gets the nod at number one. However, Rozier just narrowly gets beat out by my number one shooter on this list.
Rozier has shot 37.6% from the 3-point line during his NBA career and shot 39% last year while attempting a career-high 8.3 3-pointers per game.
One of the worries about Rozier, when he was traded to Charlotte, was his inconsistency as a shooter, but he’s proven to be a reliable shooter in his first two years with the team.
Not only is Rozier one of the best shooters on the team but he knows when to take tough shots and pull up 3’s, and is efficient while doing it. Last year, Rozier was fourth on the team with a 54.8% shooting efficiency.
His best shots last season came from 10-14 feet away from the basket, in which he made 57.3% of those attempts. He made 43% of his shots from 20-24 feet away.
More impressively, Rozier took a huge jump as an overall shooter last year, making a career-high 45% of his shots from the field. That’s a huge jump from his 42% the year prior and he’s now a 41% field goal shooter in his career.
With Devonte’ Graham and Malik Monk no longer in town, Rozier will be looked upon even more as a go-to offensive player. The losses should allow him to take even more attempts and with a new contract under his belt, he should have the confidence to do so.
