Rookie Kai Jones is going to bring A LOT of energy to the team

It’s still uncertain how long it’ll be until rookie forward Kai Jones cracks the Hornets rotation this season, but one thing was very noticeable during media day – and that’s that Jones brings a lot of energy and his new teammates love him already.

Jones was able to bond with the team on the Miami trip and Miles Bridges gave him high praise, saying he has impressed him the most this offseason by his willingness to learn.

Borrego, Rozier, and Hayward also all praised Jones during their availability.

When it was Jones’ turn to speak with the media, the entertainment couldn’t have been better.

He first said he realized that you can’t just dunk everything like he did in college but said he’s going to try. That includes trying to be in the dunk contest.

Then Jones told the funny story about how he got Hornets owner Michael Jordan’s blessing to wear the No. 23.

It’s yet to be seen how much we’ll see Jones on the floor this year but he should at least bring some competition to the practice floor when it comes to the most athletic, most entertaining, and the best dunker.
