The Charlotte Hornets are one of the most entertaining teams in the NBA, both on and off of the court.

Charlotte Hornets: Mason Plumlee is an NBA rapper

Recently, Hornets forward Miles Bridges released a mixtape – one which drew attention from LeBron James.

This led to a thought: Have any other Hornets players been rappers (or made music) in the past?

And, boy, was a discovery made.

Kanye West. Jay-Z. Mason Plumlee. Those are the best rappers of all time.

That’s it. That’s the list.

The discovery of the video led me on a quest to find other songs featuring Mason Plumlee, and from what I can tell, that is the only one that exists.

However, with that said, I was able to discover this gem.

I have so many thoughts. I don’t know how to organize and compose myself.

Mason Plumlee secretly being an NBA rapper is one of my favorite things to happen, quite possibly ever. Miles Bridges HAS to get Plumlee on a track – like… it’s a NECESSITY.

Let’s analyze these lyrics:

"“It’s your boy Plums that’s my nameMoney gunWhat up, I’m Plumdog Millionaire with no aim”"

PLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. That’s J. Cole levels of lyricism.

Look – the offseason content grind is coming to a hault soon with the regular season rapidly approaching. I wish this video was discovered a few weeks sooner, but it is incredibly entertaining regardless.

Whether Mason Plumlee is able to stick in Charlotte as a long-term option at center remains to be seen. With that said, I think the Hornets won the trade with the Pistons to acquire him.
