Charlotte Hornets: 3 trades for the 2021-22 season

Well, if you were paying attention prior to the NBA Draft this year, you probably know that Hawks wing Cam Reddish was involved in trade rumors, and that the Hawks were looking to get a first-round pick in exchange for him.

While Reddish has not quite lived up to the top-10 pick used by the Hawks to select him, there’s still a solid shot that he becomes a high-level rotational player – and NBA teams can never have enough versatile 6-foot-8 wing/forward combos. With the addition of Reddish, the Hornets would have him, Oubre, Washington, Bridges, McDaniels, and Hayward. Come playoff time, that could prove to be valuable.

The loss of Ish Smith wouldn’t be great, though. The Hornets would have to find a primary ball-handler for the bench – someone that can come in, run an offense, and score an occasional bucket. Options are going to be pretty limited, but Smith’s contract is necessary for NBA Financial trade rules (he and Reddish make a similar salary).
