Charlotte Hornets: LiAngelo Ball in Greensboro could keep LaMelo Ball happy

If the Hornets are smart, the team will do anything in its power to keep their superstar, LaMelo Ball, happy. Signing his brother to a G-league contract should do that.

On media day when asked if LiAngelo getting cut upset him, LaMelo said he was “definitely disappointed”. Now that doesn’t mean cutting LiAngelo made LaMelo mad and want to request a trade, but it definitely didn’t make him happy.

Treating your superstars right is an important part of keeping them in town. In this era of player empowerment, if they are disgruntled in their situation, they can force their way to a new team.

Charlotte cannot let this happen with LaMelo. Thankfully, fans will not have to worry about a bitter LaMelo with his brother suiting up to play just an hour and a half away.

Signing LiAngelo does not guarantee LaMelo will play here forever, but it is a nice gesture that goes in the Hornets’ favor.

LiAngelo will have a lot to prove in the G-league if he wants to ever make an NBA roster. Keeping the door open for LiAngelo to get a shot with the Hornets is a win-win for both sides.

If LiAngelo does not contribute anything to the swarm, at least his presence within the organization will make little brother smile.
