Charlotte Hornets Bold Predictions: The Hornets win a playoff series

For a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff series since *checks notes*… the 2001-02 season, this is a very bold prediction.

The players will be the first to tell you that they believe they can advance in the playoffs but in an eastern conference that has many more good teams than in years past, it might be a bit of an uphill battle.

However, it’s not out of the picture.

Last year, Charlotte was the fourth seed in the east for a good bit of the season until injuries derailed any playoff shot but they did manage to make the play-in game.

It’s almost a given that the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks will make the semifinals, so if the Hornets make the playoffs and manage to draw a matchup against a New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, or even Atlanta Hawks, you can never say never.

The last time Charlotte made the playoffs they took the Heat to seven games and boy, the Spectrum Center was rocking.

If the Hornets make it to the semifinals, this season will go down as a bonafide success.
