Charlotte Hornets Bold Predictions: LaMelo Ball is named an NBA all-star

The expectation is that point guard LaMelo Ball takes the next step to become the no-doubt franchise player in Charlotte but there wouldn’t be a bigger jump than if he were to perform so well and become an all-star.

Ball will have full access to the keys of the team this season and the Hornets will go as far as he can take them.

As a rookie, Ball showed that he can score 25-30 points on any given night, in addition to his elite rebounding and distribution skills.

In the eastern conference, Kyrie Irving probably won’t play for a while, if at all, Russell Westbrook is now west, and Ben Simmons’ status is up in the air. There should be a guard spot for Ball to grab and it’s not absurd to suggest that he can easily make the team.

Assuming he stays healthy, Ball should certainly be a multiple-time all-star throughout his career, so why not start this year?
