Charlotte Hornets Bold Predictions: Miles Bridges averages more than 18 points per game

It might finally be the breakout season for Miles Bridges as he gets ready to sign a contract extension with the Hornets.

Last season, Bridges averaged 12.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, which was a career year, but he averaged 18.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 19 games as a starter.

This season, Bridges should be a starter from game one and the potential is sky-high. Just as his nickname ‘Sky Miles’ is.

There will be times when Charlotte relies on Bridges as their big man with Mason Plumlee the only reliable center on the roster and he should see tons of scoring opportunities. There will likely be load management for Gordon Hayward, and Bridges can be the third option behind LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier.

There could even be nights when Bridges leads the team in scoring. He scored a career-high 33 points in April.

The only thing that could cause Bridges to not reach this scoring average is how Charlotte utilizes PJ Washington, who has a similar skill set. It’s obvious, though, that Bridges is further ahead in his development.
