No. 1: Teal Pinstripes Away Jersey (1988-2002)

This is the quintessential Charlotte Hornets jersey. Everything about this look works, from the pinstripes to the purple outline of the numbers and letters to the Hugo the Hornet logo on the waistband (An interesting tidbit of Hornets history is that the team did not originally use the Hugo the Hornet logo. However, the original logo was deemed too close to the logo of the Montreal Canadiens, and legal action was threatened. Hugo the Hornet was introduced, and the rest is history).

The stripes along the collar and cuffs help to tie the look together, and the hue of teal contrasts nicely with the white that is found throughout this look. There is a reason why fans still purchase and wear these jerseys to games, as they are a true classic that represents a historic period of Charlotte Hornets history.
