The Charlotte Hornets face off against the Brooklyn Nets this evening at Barclays Center at 4:00 p.m. Eastern. The Nets had a shaky start to the season, losing by 23 to the Milwaukee Bucks on opening night. However, they are coming off a big win against the Philadelphia 76ers that saw them rally from behind to secure the victory.

Charlotte’s start to the season has been very exciting, to say the least. The Hornets enter this game after a 2-0 start that has seen them have to rally from behind in both games against the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Hornets won’t want to find themselves in a similar situation tonight against the likes of Kevin Durant and James Harden. A consistent four quarters will be needed if the Hornets want to come out of Brooklyn 3-0.

Storylines in Charlotte Hornets vs Brooklyn Nets

Can the Charlotte Hornets get off to a fast start for the first time all season or will their first-half woes continue? In both game’s so far this season Charlotte’s go-to scorers have struggled to get going early. Gordon Hayward in both games and Terry Rozier against Cleveland (his sole game) could not get their shot to drop until the second half. They need to get them going early in a game this big.

The ascension of LaMelo Ball has been one to watch this season. He’ll be a storyline in every single game he plays in but tonight against Harden and Durant, how does he stack up against the league’s best players. We’ve seen him takeover in both the Indiana and Cleveland games but if he can do the same against the likes of Brooklyn, then watch out folks.
