3 Trade targets that could make Charlotte contenders: Brandon Ingram, Forward, New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans are off to another slow start beginning the season 1-3. This is largely due to the absence of Zion Williamson but it could be the start of another poor season from the Pelicans.

Brandon Ingram has done his best to keep the ship afloat. He’s currently averaging 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. All of which (he averaged 4.7 assists last year but whatever) would be career-best for him if the season finished today.

While there’s no denying Ingram’s talent, how he and Williamson fit together is still a topic of discussion. If Williamson returns and the Pelicans still can’t figure out what to do with the two, a shake-up of the roster might be in the works.

That’s where the Hornets come in.

Adding another wing player of Ingram’s caliber would be a big-time move for the Hornets. You can’t have enough players who can score effectively at all three levels. Depending on who stays in the trade you might have some overlap between him, Bridges, and Hayward, but it’s worth a shot if the team want’s to make a deep playoff push.
