3 Trade targets that could make Charlotte contenders: Myles Turner, Big, Indiana Pacers

Myles Turner and Charlotte have been linked together maybe since the moment he stepped into the league. It seems like every single season at the deadline we hear whispers that the Hornets are interested in making a move for the Pacers big man.

It’s not surprising. There’s been a noticeable problem at the center position in Charlotte ever since Al Jefferson departed the city. However, the timing was just never quite right to make the move.

This year seems like the right time to make a move for the star center. Knowing you possibly have two franchise stars in LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges. Bringing in a big man who’s a former 2x blocks leader in the NBA to anchor the paint for the future would be amazing.

Turner has had an up and down year to start the season. He scored 40 points against the Washington Wizards but in his other three matchups, he failed to score double digits. He’s still been a force in the paint as he’s averaging 2.5 blocks per game. He had 4 against Charlotte, so he can thank us for that number.

Indiana would have to accept they need to retool the roster if they want to compete. They’re 1-3 at the moment and could very well find themselves in a position at the deadline to want the shake the roster up to push up the standings. Moving on from Turner could finally happen and there’s no better destination for the big man than Charlotte.
