Storylines for Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic
How will the team respond to taking their first loss of the season? This is an interesting game for Charlotte as it could very well be considered a trap game for the young team. Coming off a loss against Boston on Monday and with an ESPN showdown against the Miami Heat scheduled for Friday. Could the team overlook this poor Magic squad? I doubt that they will, but the Magic definitely won’t be pushovers.
Gordon Hayward needs to get going early and perform well for a full four quarters. No one knows this better than he does, and this is the perfect opportunity to do so. Ball and Bridges have put the league on notice and most eyes will be on them tonight. Hayward should be able to utilize his 11 year’s worth of experience to get going against a young Orlando team.
With PJ Washington being out for the second straight game with knee discomfort, will James Borrego once again look to Nick Richards to provide the big man minutes off the bench? Richards didn’t have a great first half but played better in the second half of Monday’s night game against the Celtics. The Magic have an interesting set of big men with Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter, and Hornets killer Robin Lopez, who are all regulars in the rotation. Richards could be in for a big night.
