The Charlotte Hornets need a center – and they need one badly. This week, (started yesterday with Ben Simmons), I’ll be getting a piece out each day for potential solutions to the Hornets’ major problem.

Charlotte Hornets: 2 trades to acquire Myles Turner

The Hornets have struggled to defend players both inside and out – and that’s led to fans clamoring for a trade – and the most popular target on social media has been Myles Turner (by FAR).

Myles Turner is averaging 15 points, eight rebounds, 3.4 blocks per game – he is the definition of a modern NBA center – good enough inside to anchor a defense but can hit open 3-pointers (something he has done at a rate of 44-percent this season).

The Charlotte Hornets are a team that has been a rumored landing spot via trade for Turner in the past – and he would fit in so well on a team that already has LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges. If the Hornets can add a long-term solution at center, they may look more-so like a playoff contender.

Myles Turner, still only 25 years old (26 in March) has two years left on his contract, including the 2021-22 season. He makes about $18 million annually, with around $2 million per season in unlikely incentives.

While it is not known whether the Indiana Pacers would be open to moving Turner, they currently sit at 6-8, 12th in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte, by contrast, is 7-7. It isn’t very important now, but could become so later in the season, before the trade deadline.
