We are several weeks into the NBA season and there have been some big surprises to start the year. Everyone’s favorite Charlotte Hornets find themselves currently sitting in the five seed while the Golden State Warriors have stormed out to a hot start, leading the league with a 15-2 record. The Phoenix Suns are very close behind them at 13-3 and on a 12 game winning streak. The Suns are without a doubt, the hottest team in the NBA, pun intended.

While these two Western Conference teams have surged, other teams who could be considered elite have struggled by their standards. Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers find themselves in the middle of the pack early on in the season. Once LeBron James and Joel Embiid return to full health, you can probably bet on Los Angeles and Philadelphia surging back towards the top. Milwaukee just has a little championship hangover, they’ll be fine.

There are still a lot of games to be played and these teams are sure to rally back up to the top but for now, fans have to be asking some questions.

The Wizards have jumped out to a hot start in the Eastern Conference to much surprise. They currently sit at 11-5 and seem to look like a team who will find themselves competing for a playoff spot at the end of the season.

While the Nets currently top the East despite some shaky play, the rest of the East looks to be in for a tight finish. 13 of the 15 teams in the conference could make a fair argument on why they might be a playoff team at the end of the season.
