The Charlotte Hornets lost to the Milwaukee Bucks last night on a last-second layup from Giannis Antetokounmpo, the final score was 127-125.

The Charlotte Hornets got one of LaMelo Ball’s best career games last night in a close loss to the defending NBA champions. They are now on a 3-game losing skid, and the Hornets’ upcoming schedule does not get any easier with the Atlanta Hawks and 76ers making up the next three games.

Charlotte Hornets takeaways: The Hornets can play defense when they want to.

The Charlotte Hornets, for the most part, held the Milwaukee Bucks in check. Though they finished with 127 points (Antetokounmpo in particular scoring 40-12-9), Charlotte did well early on, holding the Bucks to just 25 points in the first quarter and 30 points in the fourth quarter. There were (short) moments displaying the Hornets are capable of defending – including two consecutive fourth quarter blocks by Gordon Hayward.

Charlotte Hornets takeaways: The Hornets will have to rest up before their upcoming stretch.

The Charlotte Hornets have their biggest break between games so far this season, not having to play another game until Sunday. It’s been a packed opening month-and-a-half this season, and they’ll need to rest up before playing the Hawks followed by the 76ers twice.

Charlotte Hornets takeaways: LaMelo Ball.

Yep. That’s it. “LaMelo Ball”.

He’s the guy – but we already knew that. LaMelo Ball has a chance to reinvigorate the once record-breaking Charlotte basketball scene, and what he has done so far to this point in his career has already gone down into the history books.

There is not much to say about LaMelo Ball that has not already been said. The Hornets finally got one – and he’s a 6-foot-8 point guard that doesn’t have much, if any weaknesses.

As stated, the Charlotte Hornets have a four-day break between games, but will be back on Sunday in Atlanta against the Hawks.
