Kelly Oubre has been a spectacular offseason addition for the Hornets.

Lastly, Kelly Oubre Jr. has flourished in his new role with the Hornets. The fit is clear in Charlotte and Oubre has embraced the role as a secondary shot maker to his teammates. Whether coming off the bench or starting when covid or injuries arise, Oubre has proven to be a spark plug and he benefitted greatly from more ball movement in Charlotte. Compared to his time in Golden State, there was a clear agenda to center the offense around Curry and to find ways to make him open. In Charlotte, there are multiple scorers and shooters and on any given night someone can light up the scoreboard. This offensive freedom has allowed Oubre to flourish as a cutter and spot-up three-point shooter, which he is shooting at the highest clip of his career for a season at 38.6 percent. He also has shown an ability to attack bad close-outs and convert on line drives this season.

Overall, Charlotte has so many options offensively from the guard and wing spots. They also have the versatility to play small ball and space the floor, which makes them hard to guard due to them having multiple isolation scorers and shooters to spread the floor with. If the Hornets can become more formidable defensively, which is a huge weakness of this team, the Hornets can become a formidable playoff team in the Eastern Conference.

Next. No, the Hornets should not trade Gordon Hayward. dark
