JT Thor – PF

Drafted in the second round by Charlotte this past summer, JT Thor was always expected to be a project with tons of potential.

At age 19, the power forward came out of Auburn very raw but had plenty of athleticism.

Thor has only played in eight games this year, and that has come due to injuries and COVID on the Hornets roster, but in his small sample size, he’s shown that he can be an impact player.

Now, Thor won’t be a huge impact player this year, but you can expect him to see a bit more playing time in 2022 with Charlotte’s roster likely to be tweaked and changed.

It’s still uncertain but if general manager Mitch Kupchak decides to move PJ Washington or another power forward at the trade deadline, Thor would instantly become that much more valuable for the Hornets.

It might take a while for the offensive game to develop but if Thor can help the team play better on defense, Borrego might have to play him more.

Patience is key but if Charlotte believes they can make a playoff run, then don’t be surprised to see some players traded away this year, opening up the door for Thor to play more.
