Charlotte Hornets vs. Atlanta Hawks: Odds, injuries, storylines and more
The Charlotte Hornets host the Atlanta Hawks for a Sunday night showdown at 7:00 p.m. est. Both teams will be looking to keep the momentum going as they each enter tonight as winners of three straight.
While on a winning streak, Atlanta hasn’t had the season they were hoping for after making a run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season. They’re just 4-6 in their last 10 games and have already shaken up the roster by trading Cam Reddish, Solomon Hill, and a second-round pick to the New York Knicks for Kevin Knox and the Hornets 2022 first-round pick that New York acquired when Charlotte moved up to select Kai Jones in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Atlanta may not be done either as Ben Simmons rumors have been circulating. If everyone is available, we will gladly take Onyeka Okongwu off your hands.
Charlotte has been on a roll as of late. There was a slight scare last game when the Oklahoma City Thunder started to rally but the Hornets pulled it together and ran away with the game, winning 121-98. It was nice to see the team handle business with the memory of the loss to the Orlando Magic fresh on everybody’s mind.
Odds for Charlotte Hornets vs. Atlanta Hawks
The Hornets enter tonight’s game as 2.5-point favorites against the Hawks, according to WynnBET. Due to the Hawks’ poor recent form, this makes sense. Being at home the Hornets should be clear favorites to beat this struggling Hawks team. I would bet on them handling business but I also think this will be a very tight matchup.

Storylines for Charlotte Hornets vs. Atlanta Hawks
This will be the third time that the southeastern foes will face off. Both games have been played in Atlanta and each team has a victory under their belt, with the Hornets most recently stealing one from the Hawks on the road. This could be a pivotal game for both teams as the race for the playoffs continues to pick up the pace.
The Eastern Conference is stacked right now and each team is separated by razor-thin margins. The Hornets currently sit in the 7th seed and are just 3.5 games back from first, but also are only 5.5 games back from the Hawks who are in 12th. Every game is important and the Hornets can’t allow the Hawks to gain any sort of ground against them tonight.
