Darius Garland, G Cleveland Cavaliers – 1st Selection

For the first time since LeBron James was on the team, the Cleveland Cavaliers have an all-star in point guar Darius Garland as they are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference.

However, while Garland’s season has been great, both Ball and Bridges have been more pivotal to the Hornets’ success and both lead Garland in points and rebounds.

Garland is another player whose teammate might’ve been the better option to make the team in center Jarrett Allen, who has been great this year.

Ball has been a better all-around guard this season but his foul trouble and defensive struggles might’ve been what cost him a spot over Garland.

There would’ve been more notoriety if Ball got in instead of Garland but the game is in Cleveland, which is where he plays. With the Cavs success, either Garland or Allen was likely guaranteed to get in, making this one tough.

But Ball is playing his best basketball of the season right now and Garland has been dealing with a back injury. If Garland has to miss the game, which would take a lot considering it’s his first and in his city, Ball would certainly be the next man up.
