Hornets Trade Rumors: 5 Centers the team could trade for to compete now
Hornets trade rumors: 5 Centers Charlotte can trade for who could move the needle – Richaun Holmes
Somehow we’ve gone full circle in just nine months. Richaun Holmes was every Hornets fan’s dream free-agent signing last offseason and unfortunately, it didn’t go that way. Holmes decided to stay in Sacramento, signing a very team-friendly deal at 4-years, $55 million.
The Sacramento Kings thought they might have had something brewing with Holmes, De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Tyrese Haliburton but that has not been the case as they currently sit at 18-34 and 13th in the West.
This was supposed to be the year the Kings took the next jump but it looks like they instead might be jumping into a rebuild. It’s been reported that apparently everyone but Fox and Haliburton are on the trade block, according to Kings reporter James Ham.
It was reported during the offseason that Holmes was looking for 4-years, $80 million, being able to bring him in for $25 million less than what he was asking for would be great business for Charlotte.
Similar to Wood’s situation, Sacramento is likely looking for youth and players around the age of Fox and Haliburton to be brought in. Charlotte would have to buy in that they’re closer than they think.
