Hornets vs Heat Prediction
The All-Star break can’t come soon enough for Charlotte. The Hornets are just 1-8 in their last nine and 3-9-1 against the spread (ATS) in their past 13. Surprisingly, it’s their offense that’s been a problem, as they rank just 24th in offensive rating over their last 15 games.
Now they’ll hope to get that offense going against a finally-healthy Heat defense that ranks 2nd in net rating in that same time frame. Miami has won five of their last six games and looks the part of a true Eastern Conference contender now that Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo are all healthy.
Sixth Man of the Year-favorite Tyler Herro will miss tonight’s game, but the Heat have a deep rotation and travel well, going 19-13 ATS on the road so far this year.
It’s difficult to trust the Hornets right now, especially against such a fierce opponent in Miami. Charlotte’s defense has never exactly been stout, having given up at least 115 points in five straight games. In fact, the last time they didn’t give up 115 points was in a 104-86 loss to the Heat earlier this month. So even that isn’t encouraging.
