Draft Target: Jaylin Williams, Center – Arkansas
The Hornets need some defensive talent in the front court, and Jaylin Williams can bring defensive intensity in spades. The 6’10”, 240-pound center blocks shots with authority; he averaged 1.1 blocks per game this season for the Razorbacks. Another intriguing thing about him is his willingness to shoot the long ball. Despite shooting 23.9% on triples, he attempted 1.9 per game. If he can develop the outside shot, he could blossom into an excellent NBA player. He also ranked 17th in the NCAA in rebounding at 9.8 per game. Overall, he is a well-rounded big that could provide value for the Swarm.
With the season winding down, I’m excited to see what the future holds for these prospects and this star-studded Hornets roster. Before free agency soaks up the spotlight, it will be interesting to see if the Hornets are able to snag any of these young bigs.
