The Charlotte Hornets have been in a major slump as of late. With no real motivation to close out the regular season, many of the players appear to have given up the season as a lost cause.

Because they have literally nothing to play for the rest of the way, long-time owner of the Swarm, Michael Jordan, has decided to once again unretire and grace the hardwood with his presence for one completely uncontroversial last dance.

Despite recently turning 59, Jordan still claims to have a lot left in the tank and looks to show the youngsters that it is not that hard to win in the NBA. Scoring 90 points and shooting exclusively long two-pointers is all it takes to carve out an NBA win after all. A team does not have to do any more than that in 2022.

While the Hornets only have five games remaining on their schedule Jordan has already planned his return for Saturday night’s contest in Philadelphia. Afterwards, he aims to hold a press conference announcing his brief hiatus before returning once again to play in Chicago on Friday, April 8.

After the Chicago “legend” makes his return, he will then retire and make his way back to the owner’s box for the final home game against the Wizards on April 10.

Get ready, Hornets fans! In what was going to be a dull, anticlimactic conclusion of the season, the Swarm suddenly have something to play for in the final five-game stretch. Unfortunately, there still won’t be a lot of hype around the Hornets as a whole.

With such a boring, untalented roster, Charlotte has been struggling to sell tickets or even make a highlight reel this season. Oh, well. There is always next season, right?
