The Charlotte Hornets may be gearing up for the NBA Draft and Free Agency with their newly-appointed head coach Kenny Atkinson, but recently-acquired center Montrezl Harrell dominated the headlines on Monday night due to a reported felony drug charge.
While the original charges date back to a May 12 traffic citation, Harrell now faces up to five years in prison due to a drug trafficking charge. With three pounds of marijuana reportedly in his possession, Harrell could see a maximum of five years in a Kentucky prison and receive a maximum $10,000 fine.
No verdicts have been given at this time, but this is not a good look for Harrell, the Hornets, and the NBA as a whole.
