Charlotte Hornets fans know that one of the team’s biggest issues with their roster is defense. This offseason, the Hornets must get better on the defensive side of the ball, and they could potentially take a step in the right direction on June 23rd’s NBA Draft. Hornets fans should be hoping the team finds the next young defensive stud like Herb Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans or Davion Mitchell of the Sacramento Kings.
With two draft picks in the first round on draft night, assuming the Hornets keep both picks, fans have to think that the team will select at least one player with a strong defensive background. With arguably the best defensive player on the team, Cody Martin, being a restricted free agent, there’s no guarantee that he comes back, so the team may have to pick up another young defender on a rookie contract. One prospect the team should take a look at is Jeremy Sochan, the freshman wing from Baylor.
