Strengths:

Sochan is a great athlete that bounces off the floor on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, leading to big dunks and emphatic blocks. His athleticism also contributes to his rebounding ability. He’s a very switchable defender, which is something the Hornets need badly. He can play solid defense on the perimeter or in the post. He can also stretch the floor enough to keep the other team honest. He can score at all three levels in transition. He has a high motor, and he’s a versatile player that can impact the game a lot of different ways.

Weaknesses:

His scoring average in college was lower than most players projected to be in the lottery. His field goal percentage was somewhat low. His 60 percent free throw percentage needs to improve to keep him on the floor during late game situations. He averaged 1.6 turnovers per game at Baylor by trying to force the ball to other teammates. He came off the bench and averaged 25.1 minutes per game, so his experience is not quite as high as some of the other cream-of-the-crop prospects.
